Cobbled Paths is a patchwork computing web interface that brings multiple tools together. It allows experimental and direct collaboration on pen-plotted drawings by drawing Ascii art together.
It makes a way from the blocky discontinuity of Ascii drawings (on Etherpads), to the smoothness of bezier curves (using Svgbob), to an anologic pen-plotter interpretation (using Vpype). It also has the a big collection of Ascii lettering ready to use (using FIGlet and other figfonts collections), and option to convert automatically translate pixel images to Ascii (using jp2a).
Like cobbled paths, none of those technologies are new, and we've been walking on them for years. Like cobbled paths, it is a reminder of the permeability between the discrete and the continuous, and how regular stones can form tortuous paths.
